Mary Jane Chadwick

Mary Jane Chadwick of Pendleton, New York, passed away on March 12, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Buffalo on December 30, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Foote Snelgrove.

Mary Jane worked as a secretary at Two Guys for thirteen years and later served as office manager at L.L. Bergers for nine years before returning to Two Guys. A longtime member of Beach Ridge Methodist Church and later Pendleton Center United Methodist Church, she lived in Lockport for the past thirty years. She found quiet joy in bowling, sewing, baking, and cooking.

She was the devoted wife of the late George A. Chadwick, who passed away in March 2012. Mary Jane is survived by her daughter Susan Mayer, her son-in-law Tim Boettcher, four grandchildren, Sheila Baran, Andrew Mayer, Sara Holmer, and K. Glenn Mayer, five great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sister-in-law Averil Snelgrove, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved cats Toby and Inky. She was preceded in death by her daughter Paula Boettcher, grandson Paul Baran, great-grandchildren Nick and Austin Hager, and her siblings Henry Snelgrove, Marian Garland, and Beatrice O’Neil.
