Mary Brewer ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors - Hodgson Chapel on Mar. 9, 2026.While peacefully sleeping on Sunday, March 8, 2026, Mary Jane Fincher Brewer, 86, passed away at her daughter's home in Savannah, with her family by her side. She was born November 15, 1939, in Henrietta, Texas to the late James and Velma Roy Fincher. She grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas and moved to Garden City in 1959 marrying James Bryon Brewer. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garden City, worked for several years at Sears and was a homemaker. Mrs. Brewer was an accomplished artist, a car enthusiast and member of the Dixie Land Cruisers, and the Corvette Club. She enjoyed reading, sewing, wood carving, and growing flowers in her yard.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Byron Brewer, two sons-in-law, Jamie Nelson, and Bob Torrescano, and her sisters, Dorothy Kutzler, and Peggy Borgfeld.Surviving are her daughter, Stacey Torrescano, of Tallahassee, daughter, Julie Nelson of Savannah, her son, Craig Brewer (Renee') of Pooler, six grandchildren, Katie Sheats (Tim), Shelby Hicks (J.C.), Tommy Brewer (Abby), William Brewer, Trevor Brewer, Joseph Torrescano, and one great-granddaughter, Everleigh Sheats, and one sister, Wanda Hayes.Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel.The Funeral Service will be 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel.Burial will be private.In honor of her love for flowers, the family asks that all attending please wear bright colors.Remembrances may be made to the A.L.S.
