She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Cavanaugh and William Cavanaugh; her grandmother Mary McDonald; her husband Walter F. Gibson; and her siblings, William Cavanaugh, James Cavanaugh, Christine LeMay, Hughe Crawford and Judy Brown.

She is survived by: her children, Mary Anne DeThomaso (Daniel) of Braintree, Stephen Gibson (Mary) of Quincy, Kathleen Gilmartin of Holbrook and Richard Gibson (Katie) of Cape Cod; her grandchildren, Erin Girard, Danielle Bennett, Brigette Gibson, MaryKate Stephatos, Joseph P. Gilmartin III, Shannon Gilmartin, Ryan Gilmartin and Nana Nana; and her great grandchildren, Kali, Colin, Olivia, Kinsley, Lainey and Nikoletta. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home North Weymouth (40 Sea St, Weymouth, MA 02191). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Parish (145 Brattle St, Cambridge, MA 02138).
