Miller, age 69 of Lima, passed at 8:45 p.m., Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Care Core. She was born August 22, 1956 in Lima, Allen County, Ohio to the late Everett Perry and Dorothy Barbara Miller Stemen.Mary will be remembered for her big heart, strong spirit, and the love she shared with everyone around her. In her earlier years, Mary worked as a manager at a pizza shop and spent time in customer service.Over the years, countless family and friends brought their children to visit her, and she lovingly helped and cared for them as her own and became known as "Nanny" to many of them. Even today, many still fondly remember and refer to her simply as Nanny.Mary loved birds, enjoyed reading, and liked keeping in touch with family and friends on Facebook. Music was always close to her heart. In her younger days, Mary performed in a band alongside her former husband and her brother, Perry, sharing her love of singing with others.Mary also enjoyed vacationing at Coldwater Lake in Michigan, shopping, and spending time with those she cared about. She was known for being a good listener, someone people could turn to for comfort and advice. At the same time, Mary was wonderfully opinionated, honest, and never shy about speaking her mind - qualities that made her both memorable and loved by those who knew her.For the past 15 years, Mary lived at Luther Pines, where she formed many meaningful friendships and considered the residents and staff to be a second family. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and looked out for others.She is survived by a son – Nicholas W. Miller of Findlay; 2 grandsons – Trejen Miller and Keaton Miller; a brother – Perry Everett (Michelle) Stemen of Lafayette; a great niece – Sarah (Cliffton) Goins of Lima; a great nephew – Steven (Amanda) Dawson of Westminster; nieces and nephews – Minday Kimmet of Lima; Brent (Sara) Stemen of Lima; a nephew – Steve Dawson of Lima; a great great niece – Victoria Goins; and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by 2 sisters – Victoria Lynn Stemen, Barbara Lee Millirans; and a niece – Dawn Evett Dawson.A memorial service will begin 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, near Elida.The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.The family kindly requests that any memorial contributions be made to the family or to the funeral home to help with expenses for Mary's services.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
