Mary Griffin Raines

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Griffin Raines (Laurens, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 9, 2026 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her spouse Thomas Steve Raines; her parents, Clyde Griffin and Ellen Smith Griffin; her son Steve Weathers; and her siblings, Charles Griffin, Ethel Taylor, Henry Griffin, Nancy Davis, Patsy Reece and Lonnie Griffin.

She is survived by: her children, Kathy Rhodes (Chuck), Karen Cooper (Randy) and Brian Raines; her grandchildren, Michelle Wilson (Debora), Forrest Weathers, Claire Raines, Griffin Raines, Allen Rhodes (Jennifer), Rene Rhodes and Stephen Cooper (Summer); and her siblings, Gene Griffin (Joyce), Betty Tollison (Charles), Tony Griffin (Missy) and Joan Rook. She is also survived by five great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Kennedy Mortuary Chapel (606 W Main St, Laurens, SC 29360).
