Mary "Nan" Glasgow

1930 — 2026

Metairie, LA

Mary Nan Glasgow, known affectionately as Nan, née Watkins, age 95, of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away on March 13, 2026. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, she spent her childhood living in many different locations throughout the eastern United States. As a young woman, she attended the University of Oklahoma, where she cherished her time with her Alpha Delta Pi sorority sisters. In 1956, while working at Sinclair Oil Corporation in Lafayette, Louisiana, she met Robert Louis Glasgow, and the two were married. The couple soon settled in Metairie, Louisiana, where Nan would make her home for the rest of her life.

A devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, Nan poured her heart into caring for her husband and four children. An avid reader of both fiction and nonfiction, she remained well informed on current events throughout her life. She was also a faithful and active member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church since 1957.

Nan was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Louis Glasgow, and her daughter, Elaine Louise Lemonier. She is survived by her children, Kenneth Lee Glasgow and his wife Del, Paul Alan Glasgow, and Susan Adair Glasgow. Her family remains deeply grateful for the compassionate care she received from the staff at Saint Michael's Assisted Living and Serenity Hospice Services during her final years.
