Mary G. Martinson

Mary G. Martinson, age 87, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.

Born on February 16, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mary was the daughter of Stephen and Gwendolyn (Swanson) Maziarz. She graduated from Escanaba High School in 1957 and married William Martinson on May 25, 1963. For more than twenty years, she worked in the insurance industry for AI Taylor and Citizens Insurance in Escanaba.

Mary gave generously of her time, volunteering at St. Francis Hospital for over fifteen years. She was an active member of the Friends of the Gladstone Library and Bay Sages. A devoted Green Bay Packers fan and proud shareholder, she also followed hockey with enthusiasm, cheering for the Detroit Red Wings, NMU Wildcats, and Escanaba teams.

She is survived by her son Robert (Lynn) Martinson, her sister Ruth Anderson, grandchildren Joe Martinson and Nick Martinson, and many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Martinson, and her sister Lois Nelson.
