Mary Fritz Zielaskowski

Mary “Polly” F. Zielaskowski, 56, of Alpena, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor.

Born Mary Christine Fritz on February 22, 1970, in Flint to Michael and Margaret (McTurnan) Fritz, Polly was a devoted mother and homemaker who filled her home with warmth and welcome for family and friends alike. She was known for her generous spirit, always ready to help others in any way she could. Polly found joy in decorating, quilting, volunteering in her community, and caring for animals of all kinds.

She is survived by her two children, Alec (Alayna Houghten) Zielaskowski and Lauren Zielaskowski; her mother, Margaret Fritz; her sister, Angela (Laura Pickell) Fritz; her nephew, Wyatt Fritz; and extended family. Polly was preceded in death by her father, Michael Fritz.
