Mary was born in the rugged small town of Rawlins in the high mountain dessert of Wyoming where she was raised by her parents Mary Janet and Wesley Corbett. There she met Ralph Rounds and they would marry at a young age. She followed him to Long Beach Ca. while he finished his navy career and she, her education. They moved back to Wyoming and started a family of three kids. Mary was instrumental in Ralph attaining his college degree from the University of Wyoming. They would move to Northglenn, CO and later divorced. She worked many types of jobs; school cook, metal fabricator and in the Insurance business. She was on the front lines of using computers in the office setting and data entry development.

Mary married Gary Kemp and welcomed two more young boys to her life in 1975. They settled for a time in Littleton, CO making life long friends. She started a book club in her neighborhood. They traveled many times to Europe, Hawaii and Florida. Mary became certified to Scuba Dive and they took a trip to Mexico to dive in the Pacific Ocean. They moved to Salem, OR in 2000 and took many trips to the Oregon Coast and made many more good friends. In 2018 Mary moved to Silverton, OR where she enjoyed hosting visits from her family, adventures with great grandchildren, growing flowers and walking her dog.

Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a cherished sister and a good friend to many.

She was a seamstress, quilter, walker and reader. She loved to paint old furniture and decorate her home. She had a huge heart for dogs and was a caring dog mom.

Mary is survived by her Sister Elizabeth Bohnstedt her partner Mark, Daughter Monica Hanson her husband Jeff, Granddaughter Emily Hanson-Gifford, her husband Tony, Great grandchildren Angelina and Oliver, Granddaughter Anna Hanson, Son Russell Rounds, Granddaughter Casey Jane, Great Granddaughter Evelyn, Son Richard Rounds and his wife Tara and Great Granddaughter Katie, Step-son Gary Kemp his wife Claudia, Granddaughter Isabella, Step-son Kenneth Kemp, Niece Natalie and her husband Ryan and Great Nieces Milly and Georgia, Nephew Ian and his wife Jodi and Great Nieces Gabby and Mailey, Cousin Sharon Kay Womack and many friends.

Mary had grit, sparkle and a great sense of humor. She was one of a kind and loved by many. She will be deeply missed.
