Mary Estrada

Mary Estrada, known affectionately as Mary Velez de Estrada, passed peacefully at her home in Bethlehem, Georgia, on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the age of 83.

Born in Medellín, Colombia, on December 17, 1942, Mary lived a life deeply rooted in family and faith. She is survived by her three sisters, Lia, Elvia, and Maria Eugenia, her son Michael, her daughter Maribel, and her granddaughter Isabel Kristina, as well as 17 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fidel Estrada, and her brothers, William, Fernando, and Ignacio.

A woman of quiet strength and devotion, Mary was a longtime member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Winder, Georgia, where she found community and comfort in her faith. Her family and friends will remember her gentle spirit and the love she shared with those closest to her.
