Mary Ellen Veronica Cassidy

Mary Ellen Veronica Cassidy (née McKinley), 86, of Landenberg, PA and formerly the Villas, NJ, passed away on March 12, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born in 1940 in Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (née McCullough) McKinley.

Mary Ellen worked as an Administrative Assistant in the healthcare field at Wyeth Labs in Radnor, Pa. She was a true animal lover, especially both dogs and cat. She enjoyed playing Bingo and her close circle of friends in The Villas, NJ, where she was also involved with her church.

Mary Ellen had a very special relationship with her grandchildren, with whom she loved spending time with.

She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Cassidy and the late Theodore J. Fiala Jr.; loving mother of Ted Fiala (the late Marlene) and the late Karen M. Fiala; devoted grandmother of Rhiannon Sayles (Darion), Toby Fiala (Jamie) and Jackson Fiala; proud great-grandmother of Zoey Aliah Sayles and Layla Marlene Sayles.

The family would like to offer special thanks to her caregiver, Joanna Duwana, for making the last year of Mary Ellen’s life peaceful.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing 9:30-11:00 m Friday, March 20, 2026 and to her Funeral Service 11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
