Mary was born in June 1936, was the cherished daughter of Walter and Mary, sister of Walter and Elenor Byrnes of South Boston. She passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and kindness. Mary was the wife of the late Donald Nave, and the loving mother of Donald Nave, Denise Landman, David Nave, and Darlene Flaherty. She was a proud grandmother to Eric and Paul Landman, Austin, Anthony, David, and Dylan Nave, and a joyful great-grandmother to Jayden and Alya Nave.Mary's life was enriched by the presence of many nieces, nephews, and a great many friends. She had a special fondness for the South Boston Neighborhood House, a place she truly loved and where she found happiness in community gatherings and friendships. Mary's love of friends and social activities was a joy to see-she brought energy and happiness to every gathering. She will be remembered for her unwavering support, her generous spirit, and the joy she brought to those around her. She leaves behind a circle of loved ones who will cherish her memory always.Her legacy of compassion and togetherness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Care Dimensions Hospice, whose kindness and dedication provided comfort during Mary's final days.In lieu of gifts and flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to the South Boston Neighborhood House & Senior Center (sbnh.org) a testament to her enduring love for her community. Her warmth, laughter, and unwavering support will never be forgotten, and she will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation at Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, South Boston, Wednesday, March 4 from 9:00-10:30a.m..Her Funeral Mass will follow in Gate of Heaven Church, 615 East 4th Street, South Boston, MA 02127, at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Cedar Grove Cemetery, NeponsetTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
