Mary Ellen McKenzie Kratofil

Mary Ellen McKenzie Kratofil, 68, of Crawfordville, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026. Born on November 2, 1957, in Tallahassee, Florida, she worked as a cosmetologist and was a longtime member of New Hope Baptist Church. Mary Ellen loved to cook, was an avid reader and traveler, and possessed a warm, outgoing personality that drew others to her. Above all, she cherished every moment spent with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Kratofil; her sister, Phyllis Davis (Bill); her brothers, Audie McKenzie (Darby), Marvin McKenzie, and Frank McKenzie; and eight nieces and nephews, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews. Mary Ellen shared an especially close bond with her niece Chrissy Catalfamo, whom she loved like a daughter and who lovingly helped care for her in her later years.
