Mary E. Zukowski

Mary E. Trochowski Zukowski, age 87, of Erie, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on March 13, 2026. Born in Erie on November 18, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Lijewski) Trochowski.

A graduate of the former St. Benedict Academy, Mary worked for many years as head cook at Our Lady of Peace School. A longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Church, she was an active member of the Rosary Altar Society and served as a Cub Scout Den Mother. Above all, her greatest joy came from her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom she cherished every moment spent together.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles J. Zukowski, Sr., who passed away on January 17, 2017. She is survived by her four sons, Charles J. Zukowski, Jr. (Jackie), John J. Zukowski, Michael C. Zukowski (Wendy), and Mark P. Zukowski (Patricia); eight grandchildren, Allyson (Justin), Benjamin, Samuel, Olivia, Carly (Caleb), Chad (Kallie), Monica (Joseph), and Emily; one step-grandson, Brian (Nancy); four great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Noah, Levi, and Waylan; four step great-grandchildren, Sadie, Finley, Garrett, and Millie; her half-sister, Rosemary McCall; one sister-in-law, Alice Comyns; and two nephews, Robert Brophy (Lisa) and Ron Brophy (Carol).
