She earned an associate degree in Business from Butler Community College. She was united in marriage to Dennis Poffinbarger on January 4, 1977 in Potwin, KS. She worked hard for her family and worked in many different fields, eventually retiring as an Office Administrator for Youthful. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed crocheting and crafting for family and friends. She enjoyed playing games on her phone and always held a playful spirit. Whether she was making the occasional trip to the casino to play the slots or spending time with her children and grandchildren; Mary was sure to make memories. Her greatest joy was her family, which includes her children, Brandi (John) Anderson of El Dorado, and Jeffrey (Kimberly) Poffinbarger of Spring Hill, KS; grandchildren, Logan, Lily, Hunter, Asher, Elena; great-granddaughter-on-the-way, Ellie; sister, Carol Howard; bonus sister, Becky Young; significant other, Billy Higgins and her furbabies. Mary passed away on March 7, 2026 in Wichita. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis; half sister, Annette Nelson; brother, Jim Montgomery; brother, Jerry Montgomery and sister, Patricia Adlesperger.Memorial services will be held on Thursday, March 19th at 11 a.m., at Carlson Colonial Chapel.
