Mary Alice De La Cruz, of Round Rock, Texas passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Thursday March 5, 2026.
Mary was born on October 30, 1964 in Athens, Texas to Camilia Gomez and Manuel De La Cruz. She was one of six siblings.
Mary accepted Christ at an early age and remained steadfast in her faith throughout her life. Her spiritual journey was a cornerstone of her character, providing her with strength and guidance through all of life’s moments.
As a devoted sports enthusiast, Mary could often be found cheering passionately from the sidelines at baseball games, track meets, or volleyball matches. Her unwavering support for the teams she loved brought joy to those around her and reflected her vibrant and spirited nature.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Eva Aldrete.
She is survived by her husband, Kennith Steele; children, Jonathan Steele and Miressia Steele; brothers, Nelly, Oscar, Ronie, and Alex De La Cruz; two grandchildren, Hazel and Arielle Steele; sister-in-law, Sharon Steele; nephews, Edward and Eric Aldrete; and a host of family and friends. A special acknowledgement to Dr. Sara Stokes and staff at Baylor Scott and White, the nurses from home health, St. William Catholic Church, and Rita Calhoun.
Mary’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May her legacy of faith and enthusiasm continue to inspire those she touched.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday March 13, 2026 a Providence Funeral Home, 807 Carlos Parker Blvd NW, Taylor, TX. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 14, 2026 at the same location. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery, 1800 E Walnut SE, Taylor, TX.
