Mary Beth Madison Compton

Mary Beth Madison Compton, age 86, passed peacefully at her home on March 14, 2026. Born on April 12, 1939, in Logan, West Virginia, to Edna Stephens Madison and Fred Madison, she lived a life marked by quiet strength and deep devotion to her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald R. Compton Sr., and her sister Judith Madison Adams. Mary Beth is survived by her son, Donald Ray (Kimberly) Compton of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, and her daughter Terry (Greg) Spradlin of Nicholasville, Kentucky. She cherished her grandchildren, Trevor (Deanna) Compton of Prestonsburg, Zachary (Brigid) Spradlin of Alexandria, Virginia, and Julie (Daniel) Whitt of Lexington, Kentucky.

A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the First Presbyterian Church in Prestonsburg, with burial following in the Porter Cemetery. In keeping with her caring spirit, the family requested memorial contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church, the Floyd County Animal Shelter, or Bluegrass Care Navigators.
