Mary Ann Schuldt

Mary Ann Schuldt, a beloved educator and cherished mother and grandmother, peacefully departed this world on March 4, 2026, in Sioux City, Iowa, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 16, 1942, in Sioux City, she devoted her life not only to her family but also to the noble calling of teaching, which she embraced with unwavering passion and dedication.

Mary Ann's teaching career began in 1974 at Hayworth Jr. High in Sioux City, where she spent countless hours shaping young minds and hearts. Over the course of three decades, she impacted countless lives in Iowa, South Dakota, Colorado, and Minnesota, serving in both public and Catholic school systems. As a dedicated educator, she accepted and supported children from all backgrounds and beliefs, instilling in them a love for learning and a sense of belonging. Her commitment to her students was matched only by her pride in her own educational accomplishments, holding a Bachelor of Science Degree from Morningside University and a Master's Degree from the University of South Dakota.

Mary Ann was not only a steadfast teacher but also an incredibly devoted mother to her daughter, Cecelia (Joe) Ronnfeldt, and son, Tim (Heather) Schuldt. Her pride extended beyond her role as a parent to encompass her grandchildren—Mary Ronnfeldt, John Ronnfeldt, Anna Schuldt, Jon Schuldt, and Andy Schuldt—whose achievements filled her heart with joy and joyfully confirmed her legacy. She was their greatest cheerleader, always celebrating their milestones with love, encouragement, and enthusiasm.

Her spirit was nurtured by the loving care she received in her final days, for which the family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Bridget, John, Amy, and Richard of St. Croix Hospice, as well as the many staff members at Sunrise Retirement Community, who surrounded Mary Ann with kindness and compassion.

Mary Ann leaves behind a beautiful legacy of dedication, love, and unwavering support for those she cherished. While her parents, Stanley and Mary Elizabeth (Cahill) Martineck, have predeceased her, they are forever part of the tapestry of her life, which she so dearly cherished.

As we gather to celebrate her remarkable life and the profound impact she made on so many, we will carry forward her passion for education, her love for family, and the spirit of acceptance she embodied. Mary Ann Schuldt will be remembered not only as a cherished educator but as a loving mother and grandmother whose devotion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
