Mary Ann Scarbrough

Mary Ann Scarbrough, age 76, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of the late Alice Ruth and William Abraham Shipley. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wayne Scarbrough, with whom she is now reunited, her sister, Glenda England, and her brother, Donald Shipley.

A devoted and fiercely loving mother, Mary Ann is survived by her daughters, Mary White and Sonya Nieto. Her heart was especially full for the granddaughter she raised as her own, Cheyann Scarbrough. She leaves behind grandchildren Jacob White, Abigail White, Winter Lane, Connor Lane, David Nieto, and Neyland Nieto, as well as great-grandchildren Toni White and Asher Schoff. Mary Ann was a cherished sister to Roscoe Shipley, Carolyn Ballard, Dorothy Mitchell, and Jerry Shipley, and a dear sister-in-law to many.

Known for her sassy personality, quick wit, and warm charm, Mary Ann spoke her mind and cared deeply for her family. She brought a unique spark to every room she entered and was a light in the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered with great love by her family and many friends.
