Mary Plumeri ObituaryVisit the Cremation Society of Virginia Chesapeake Office website to view the full obituary.Virginia Beach-Mary Ann Florence Del Monte Plumeri was born at home in Niagara Falls, New York on October 21, 1936.She was close with her mother and father, Alfred and Angelina Del Monte, and spent her childhood being doted on by her many aunts and uncles. She had lots of friends, best of which was her husband who she met when she was just fifteen. Mary Ann married James Michael Plumeri at nineteen, and enjoyed 57 years with him until his passing in 2013. She is mourned by many and leaves behind a daughter, Lisa Marie Plumeri Meditz; and a son, Robert Michael Plumeri; daughter-in-law, Julie Bannon and granddaughter, Jamie Michelle Plumeri.Mary Ann wouldn't have said this of herself, but she was an artist. Without any training she produced massive works, showcasing considerable talent. She taught herself watercolor, mosaics, embroidery, and stained glass. Her pieces in each medium were dramatic expressions of color, movement, and strength. She was quick witted and self educated to the degree her mail was sometimes addressed to doctor Plumeri. Mary Ann loved books and read voraciously. She was an excellent cook and an even better baker. Mary Ann played tennis well into her 70s. She was competitive, but always had an amusing quip at the ready when the ball wasn't in play. During her long life she was a daughter, sister, wife and mother. But perhaps most of all, she was an amazing friend. She was supportive, generous, on your side and all in, spending hours listening and offering advice. She helped many people throughout her life in this way. Anyone who was lucky enough to be her acquaintance or friend had nothing but praise and admiration for Mary Ann. Mary Ann was a force of nature during her time here on earth. She was clever and funny and bold. She passed on March 4, 2026, at 89 years of age. She will be missed. A lot. Please post your fondest condolences to the family on the Cremation Society of Virginia website.Read The Full Obituary
