Mary Ann Moreland

Mary Ann Moreland, 88, of Martinsville, passed away on March 11, 2026, at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis.

Born on September 10, 1937, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Lawrence and Marie Antoinette (Oaks) Eicher, Mary Ann dedicated 44 years of her professional life as a legal secretary at a law firm in Indianapolis. A longtime member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, she remained deeply connected to her faith and community.

She is survived by her husband, Richard S. “Dick” Moreland, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage since their wedding on December 17, 1982; her children, Derek Tamber, Richard Moreland Jr., Jeffery Moreland, Mary Lou Draughton, and Veronica Moreland; her brother, David Eicher; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her son, Leonard Moreland; her daughter, Diane Moreland; and her parents.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and faithful woman whose steady presence and quiet strength touched all who knew her.
