Mary Ann McCool

Mary Ann McCool passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, at Magnolia Village Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky, at the age of 75. Born on December 27, 1950, in Cumberland County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Curtis Vincent and Ora Helen (Baker) McCool. The youngest of eleven children, Mary spent her childhood in Burkesville, Kentucky.

Her life was defined by her deep devotion to her son, Curtis, whom she supported in every endeavor and for whom she took great pride in being an Eagle Scout mom. She loved her daughter-in-law, Tricia, as her own daughter. Mary possessed a warm heart that made everyone around her feel like family. A gifted cook, she found genuine joy in preparing meals for others and took pride in feeding as many people as she could. She also delighted in baking and crafting, creating beautiful cakes, ceramics, wreaths, and jewelry. To those who loved her, she was affectionately known as Mama, Grandma Mary, Aunt Mary, and Mary Ann. She cherished her “fur grandbabies,” who returned her affection in full.

Preceded in death by her parents and siblings Sheldon McCool, Weldon “Buddy” McCool, Wyndle “Bill” McCool, Joyce Sparks, Leon McCool, Bernal McCool, and Elwood McCool, Mary is survived by her son Curtis and his wife Tricia Cary; her sister Doris and husband Jimmie Neathery; her brothers Johnny and his wife Ruth McCool, and Earl McCool; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
