Mary Ann Lind

October 6, 1944 March 10, 2026

Sun City West, AZ

Dr. Mary Ann Lind, 81, of Sun City West, Arizona, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born on October 6, 1944, in Fort Morgan, Colorado, to David and Mary Lind, she grew up in Fort Morgan and later returned there for part of her teaching career in School District RE-3 and at Morgan Community College.

In 1985, Mary Ann earned a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado, which began a rich season of university teaching, volunteer mission work, speaking, and writing. She taught for 23 years at Biola University, authored three books and a booklet titled “Does Your Life Have Meaning?,” and served in Christian missions across Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. A frequent speaker at retreats, conferences, and seminars, she cherished many memorable experiences, including time spent with Mother Teresa in Calcutta. She was ordained and served as a volunteer hospital chaplain.

After retiring, she found great joy in teaching Bible studies, reading, and playing the harp at care facilities. She held deep affection for the many students she taught throughout her life and received numerous distinguished teaching awards. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her older brothers, Dave and Robert. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as students from around the world. She often reflected that she had lived an amazing life, yet looked forward with hope to the best still to come as she anticipated seeing Jesus face to face.
