Born on May 5, 1943, she was the daughter of Ollie Brown Lewis and Courtney Lewis Jr.Mary came from a wealthy background. Her family was considered old name old money. She loved going to Lausanne Private School and loved her Ballet Classes. She was always considered an attractive woman and had quite a few suitors before Marrying Raoul Lerow in 1964. She went on a couple of dates with Jim Henson of the Muppets. Why she didn't pursue that I will never know. Jim could have been Dad. She was approached by Don Nickels' publicist at a show, but she said I am too young for him. And she was at the time.Once at a fair in the late 50's, she was selected by a photographer at Elvis Presley's request to take a picture of him which was published in a Memphis Newspaper at the time.Mary was respected by a wide array of people and had friends on all socio-economic levels. She was an entrepreneur who traveled with Companies and also did Life Coaching.Mary was very influential in NY Environmental Programs in the late 60's. She and a small group of friends were able be able to get the first company in NY ever to change their waste disposal method and not put waste into a river. With a Group of about only 5 people. "Way to go Mary Ann", you've got this. Go team, go group. When she left NY in 1972, she was offered 5th highest position in the EPA. Had the times been different my father would have urged her to take it, I would have stayed in my Wonder World of NY. 'Mr. Sandy blond hair eat up with a spoon." Now the rest is history.Mary Ann Lewis will be missed by the world, her friends, her only son, and her late pre-deceased husband, Raoul Lerow. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
