Mary Kee ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Oltmann Funeral Home - Union on Mar. 16, 2026.Mary Elizabeth Ann Kee (nee' Sheets) was born May 02, 1941 in Bay, AR to William and Odessa (nee' Wilkerson) Sheets. Surrounded by her loving family, Mary Ann passed away Sunday, March 08, 2026 in St. Louis, MO at the age of 84 years.Mary Ann's family moved several times while she was growing up, but she spent a majority of her childhood in Oliver Springs, TN. She graduated from Oliver Springs High School and continued her education at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Later in life, Mary Ann returned to school and completed a Master of Education degree in Special Education at Missouri Baptist University.Mary Ann was united in marriage to Jimmy Kee on May 8, 1962 in Jonesboro, AR. The couple initially made their home in Arkansas and moved around several times while Mr. Kee served as pastor at local churches. They settled in Union, MO in May 1973. Their marriage was blessed with three children.Mary Ann dedicated her career to teaching and helping children in the Union R-XI School District. She held several teaching positions throughout the course of her career with the district and found immense joy watching students succeed inside and outside of the classroom. She retired from the Union R-XI School District after many years of dedicated service.Mary Ann had many talents and was an active member of the community for many years. She was a talented quilter and seamstress and shared her love of sewing and quilting with local youth in the 4H program. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society for many years. She loved planting flowers in the spring and tending to her flower beds and house plants. She and her husband could often be seen driving their classic cars in the local parades. Mary Ann also had a love for traveling. In earlier years, she and her husband would load up their children and go on trips with their camper. After retiring, Mary Ann and Jimmy spent several years traveling across the United States in their RV and took their grandchildren on several of those trips. Mary Ann was a longtime, active member of The Ridge Church in Villa Ridge, MO. She participated in the quilting club at church and taught Sunday school for many years.Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, William and Odessa (nee' Wilkerson) Sheets; her daughter, Cheryl Yenzer Anderson; and one sister, Faye Gilliam.She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Kee of Union; two sons: Douglas and Lisa Kee of Auxvasse and David and Kristi Kee of Union; two sons-in-law: Mike Anderson of Lebanon and Gary Yenzer of Union; eight grandchildren: Matthew Yenzer (fiancée Allie Overschmidt), Michael Yenzer (Bailey), Nathan Yenzer (Sam), Zak Kee (Paige), Jacob Kee (Shelby), Chance Kee (Lindsey), Nickolas Kee (Kelsey), and Taylor Rothschild (Cole); seven great-grandchildren: Berkeley, Knox, Wrenley, Oakley, and Rhett Kee, Cash and Colter aka "Coco" Rothschild, and another baby Kee on the way; two sisters: Jeanne Morales of GA and Karan and Mike Page of KY; one brother, Andy and Donna Sheets of TN; brother-in-law, Ron Gilliam of FL; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.Visitation for 84-year-old Mary Ann Kee will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Oltmann Funeral Home in Union, MO. Visitation will resume at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 27, 2026 at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM with Pastor Roger Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Midlawn Memorial Gardens in Union.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Ridge Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.The Kee family is served by Oltmann Funeral Home in Union, MO.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
