Beyond her professional life, Mary Ann thrived in the company of a close circle of friends. At The Willows of Springhurst, she was cherished for her infectious laughter and uplifting presence. She enjoyed spirited games of Bingo and various activities, especially in the company of her dear friend Pat. The nurses and staff treasured her zest for life and the way she brightened their days.
A gifted craftswoman, Mary Ann poured love into every handmade creation. Her daughter, Denise, fondly recalls the dresses her mother lovingly made for her pageant appearances, reflecting Mary Ann’s artistry, pride, and deep affection. Above all, Mary Ann took greatest pride in her daughter Denise, her two granddaughters Claire and Chloe Yates, and her beloved son-in-law Scott. To them she was a constant source of unconditional love and support, and they will carry forward the joy and laughter she instilled in their lives.
Mary Ann is reunited with her late parents, Jake and Annie Mae Young, and her siblings Mosa Mae Whittington, Ettie Purser, Shirley Noles, Jack and James Young. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, creativity, and cherished memories that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.
