A passionate mixed-media artist, Mary Ann found deep fulfillment in creating and sharing her paintings with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her spouse Mary Kathleen Morbitizer, her son Andrew Meyer, her parents Harold and Catherine Gerst Bennett, her brothers Donald and Gene, and her former spouse Bob Meyer. She leaves behind her daughter-in-law Annette Wright, close friends Donna and Erica Briggs, and an extended chosen family that includes Rob Dorgan, Steve Bolia, Carol Wolfe, Jan Smith, Robbie Becker, Michele Mascari, and Leslie Korbee, all of whom will remember her with deep love and affection.

She devoted 47 years to Catholic education, beginning as an art teacher at Covington Catholic High School before joining St. Xavier High School in 1979. There she established the Advanced Placement Art program, led community service initiatives, and mentored countless young men, many of whom went on to successful art careers and remained in touch with her throughout their lives. She later served as Assistant Principal for Academics at St. Ursula High School, inspiring young women for eight years, and continued on the St. Ursula Board after her retirement in 2019.
In retirement, Mary Ann was inducted into the St. Xavier High School Fine Arts Hall of Fame in 2022. She volunteered with the Companions of St. Ursula, served as a Docent at the Cincinnati Art Museum, and supported the Ovarian Cancer Fund.
