Mary Alice Martin

Mary Alice Martin, 77, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026. Born on December 7, 1948, in York, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late James Woodrow Stamper and the late Gladys Taylor Stamper.

Mary found deep joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially traveling to the mountains with her husband and losing herself in a good book. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she took great pride in every moment shared with them.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John David Martin; daughters Carol Morris and Nancy Brasington (Greg); grandchildren Shelby Wad (Ray), Joshua Morris, Hannah Snodgrass (Andy), and Mason Brasington (Kelsey); and great-grandchildren Hayden Blanchard, Tristan Snodgrass, Rylan Snodgrass, and Skylar Snodgrass. She eagerly anticipated the arrival of another great-grandchild, Wade, due in September. Mary is also survived by her brother, James Stamper, and a special sister-in-law, Mary Hill, along with many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Gowans, and her brother, William Beam.
