Mary "Tess" Alderman

Mary “Tess” Alderman, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at Kobacker Hospice House in Columbus at the age of 84. Born on June 3, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of John D. and Mary F. Tessiatore (Rohrig).

Tess built a life defined by independence, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to caring for others. She worked as a nurse, a profession that reflected her nurturing spirit and lifelong desire to serve. Whether caring for patients, raising her children, or offering steady support to friends, she gave generously of herself.

She possessed a bold spirit of adventure and an insatiable curiosity about the world. She traveled extensively across the United States and abroad, developing a special love for Turkey. Closer to home, she devoted herself to her house on Reno Road, where she spent countless hours tending gardens, cultivating flowers, and nurturing the trees she cherished. Her home became a reflection of her dedication and her ability to create beauty in her surroundings.

Tess found great joy in the company of lifelong friends and her regular card group. Above all, she was devoted to her family, shaping their lives with her love and strength. She is survived by family and friends who carry forward the values of independence, generosity, and compassion she instilled in them.
