Marvy Heston Durden II, of Piedmont, Alabama, passed away on March 5, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia, at the age of 37. Born on April 21, 1988, in Augusta, Georgia, Marvy brought warmth and light to everyone he met through his humor, optimism, and steadfast perseverance. He lived with an open heart and an unwavering kindness that touched countless lives.
A devoted husband to his wife, Renee Durden, Marvy made sure his family always felt loved. He was the proud father of three children and took special joy in being a grandfather to Grasen Calhoun. Whether as a brother, son, uncle, cousin, or friend, he had a gift for making ordinary days brighter and more colorful. His playful spirit and love of a good prank or spooky mask brought laughter to those around him.
Marvy built a career in the hospitality industry, where his genuine ability to connect with others made both colleagues and strangers feel truly welcome. Even during his long hospital stays while courageously battling a congenital heart defect, he left a lasting impression on the doctors and nurses who cared for him.
He is survived by his wife, Renee Durden, of Piedmont, AL; daughters Shaylee Durden of Piedmont, AL, and Trinity McCann of LaGrange, GA; grandchild Grasen Calhoun; father Marvy Durden of Augusta, GA; and sisters Heather Stich of Tallapoosa, GA, Gabrielle Durden, Jessica Durden, and Rebecca Durden of Swainsboro, GA. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marvy was preceded in death by his mother, Michelle Manning; his daughter Scarlett Durden; and several grandparents and other dear family members.
