He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse James and Frances M. Wood (Cheney); his son Kerry Barger; and his siblings, Paul Wood, Jesse Wood and Margaret Albert.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Anne Wood (Murphy); his daughters, Anita Patterson (Carl), Jacquelyn Rojics (Steven) and Richelle Bryant (John); his grandchildren, Aaron, Andrew Patterson, Gina Ciesialka, Amanda Ciula and John Bryant; Diana Waggoner (Ken). He is also survived by great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, March 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Funeral Home (824 S Mayflower Dr, South Bend, IN 46619). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers donations in honor of Marvin E. Wood maybe made to Pet Refuge, the VFW, or the Ernestine M. Raclin Center for Hospice Care, Mishawaka.
