Marvin Lee Knupp Sr.

Marvin Lee Knupp, Sr., 86, of Rockingham, passed away on March 14, 2026, at Harrisonburg Health and Rehab. Born on August 2, 1939, in Harrisonburg, he was the son of the late Raymond Phillip “Pete” and Nora Elizabeth Emswiler Knupp.

Marvin spent many years as a car salesman for D & M Automotive and also worked at the Harrisonburg Chuck Wagon. He was a past member of the Valley Cruisers Car Club and took great pleasure in driving his beloved 1960 Chevrolet, “Hardly Able.” A longtime resident of the area, he attended Faith Baptist Church in Broadway.

On June 17, 1959, he married Ruby Moyers, who survives him. He is also survived by his four sons, James Knupp and wife Lisa of Port Republic, Brad Knupp of Broadway, David Knupp and wife Debbie of Harrisonburg, and Marvin Knupp II and wife Angela of Harrisonburg; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two nieces; his sister-in-law, Rachel Knupp; and a number of cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Knupp.
