Marvin Warnez ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home on Mar. 13, 2026.Marvin Charles Warnez passed away at his home on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the age of 91.He was born on December 1, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan to Charles and Grace (nee Finkel) Warnez. He was baptized at Our Savior Evangelical Church in Detroit, Michigan on December 16, 1934. After graduating from Cass Tech High School, Marvin became a draftsman. He was a proud United States Army Veteran who served at Fort Knox. He married Patricia Barbani on April 15, 1961 at Resurrection Church in Detroit, Michigan. They shared nearly 65 years together and made countless memories with their family. Marv worked at Design Staff for General Motors for over 30 years, retiring in 1999 as a Senior Designer. He was very proud of his work at GM Design Staff and was respected by his colleagues for his hard work and dedication. His faith in Jesus Christ was very important to him, and he centered his family and life around Christ. He was a member at St. Peter Lutheran, Macomb for over 50 years and served as an Elder for over 25 years. He was a car enthusiast and a war history buff. Boating and being on the water, especially in Caseville, were some of his favorite summer activities with his family. Marv had a love for dogs, and they loved him in return. He was always tinkering around their home and was very handy at fixing and remodeling. Marv's home was filled with love and laughter from his children and grandchildren. His grandkids meant the world to him, and he did everything he could to attend their events. His sudden passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him.Marv is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Michael Warnez, Michelle (Scott) Harpe, and Robin (Daniel) Nicholson; grandchildren, Audrey (Pat) McDonough, Kelsea Nicholson, Kevin Nicholson, Dana Warnez, Lydia (A) P, David (Kelly McKeown) Warnez and Abigail Harpe; and many extended family and friends. Marv is preceded in death by his grandson, Nathan Harpe; sister, Lois Zampich and parents.Visitation for Marv will take place on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 17051 24 Mile Road, Macomb. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026 at the church. Burial and Military Honors will take place immediately after the funeral at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Macomb. A luncheon will take place following the cemetery services.Memorial contributions would be appreciated to St. Peter Lutheran Church – Building Together Campaign.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
