Marty Stock, 84, passed away on March 9, 2026, at his daughter’s home in St. George, Utah. Born on February 24, 1938, to Adelbert “Bert” Stock Jr. and Arma Dutton Stock, he was the fourth of their six children.
After high school, Marty joined the United States Army and served at Fort Ord, California, and Fort Lewis, Washington. Following his discharge, he moved to Kearns, Utah, where he worked at the Lark Ore Mine. He later relocated his family to Gunnison, Utah, and worked at the Salina Canyon Coal Mine before settling in St. George, where he managed a motel and served with the St. George City maintenance department. He retired from the city and moved to Manti to be near his children and grandchildren, eventually returning to St. George to live with his daughter.
Marty loved the outdoors and found great joy in hunting and fishing. An avid bowler, he competed in numerous tournaments throughout his life. He married Flora Jean Haws, with whom he had four children before they divorced. He later married Gail Spencer, and the two shared many happy years together.
Marty is survived by his sons Richard Dean (Karleen) McInelly and Kaylon Dee McInelly; daughters Ronni K (Willie) Donovan and Kristy (Sean) Clark; son-in-law William Anderson; siblings Iris Burr, Nora Wagner, and Jeff Stock; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Gail Spencer Stock; daughters Jeanette Stock, Teresa Stock, and Toni Stock Anderson; brother Gerald Stock; sister-in-law Lora Dawn Stock; sister Carol Stock; and brothers-in-law Arnell Burr and James Wagner.
