Martina Clara Siek

Martina Clara Siek, 89, of Blairstown, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha.

Born on January 30, 1937, in Boulder Township, Linn County, Iowa, Martina was the daughter of Wesley and Tracy Clara (Marek) Lawrence. After high school, she attended Mount Mercy College and earned her nursing degree. She devoted 35 years to her nursing career at Mercy Medical Center and another 10 years at Manor Care. On January 30, 1959, in Prairieburg, Iowa, she married Damon Morrison. They shared 39 years of marriage until his passing in February 1998. She later married Charles Siek on May 4, 2002; he preceded her in death in 2018.

Martina found deep fulfillment in her family, her Catholic faith, and her home. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, watching game shows and Hallmark movies, listening to polka music, and playing Train Dominoes. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her loved ones. She will be remembered for her steadfast faith, generous heart, and the warmth she brought to everyone she met.

She is survived by her children Gerald (Kathy) Morrison of Marion, Iowa; Theresa Dugan and her fiancé Louis Reynolds of Oklahoma; Michele Lloyd of Marion, Iowa; Karen (Tom) Howell of Marion, Iowa; Kevin (Avis) Morrison of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Bobbie Siek of Arkansas; and William Siek; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; her siblings Mark (Mary) Lawrence, Loras (Marylin) Lawrence, Cletus (Linda) Lawrence, Mariann (Glen) Holiday, Joann (Jack) Carrothers, and Clair Lawrence; her brother-in-law John (Evie) Faurote; her sister-in-law Kay Lawrence; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Clem Lawrence, Kathleen Faurote, Cyril Lawrence, and Claret (C.W.) Lawrence, granddaughter Angela Duwa, and sister-in-law Denise Lloyd-Lawrence.
