June 21, 1960— March 11, 2026
Oregon, OH
Martin “Marty” Zeller, 65, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born on June 21, 1960, in Toledo, Ohio, to James and Donna (Lincoln) Zeller, Marty was a man of quiet strength, remarkable skill, and steady generosity.
A graduate of Woodward High School, Marty began his career as a millwright with Toledo Edison and later served many years as supervisor of the street department for the City of Oregon before retiring. A true craftsman, he was a master woodworker and gifted handyman who could repair or build nearly anything. From fixing cars and tackling electrical projects to completing home improvements, Marty was the person family and friends naturally turned to when something needed fixing, knowing he would find a way.
Marty’s passions brought him joy throughout his life. He loved camping and fishing, relaxing with a good book, roasting his own coffee, and cooking for those he cared about. He was especially known for his homemade spaghetti and smoked sausage. Even as a young man, he enjoyed making breakfast for his sister, striking a deal that he would cook if she cleaned up afterward.
On May 1, 1987, Marty married the love of his life, Laurie, after meeting at work and persistently asking her out until she said yes. Their honeymoon in Jamaica marked the beginning of a life filled with laughter, partnership, and shared memories. Marty will be remembered for his laid-back and easy-going nature, his exceptional craftsmanship, and the many quiet ways he took care of others.
He is survived by his sons, James (Kathryn) and Adam (Rebecca) Zeller; special granddaughter, Morgan; mother, Donna; sisters, Diane (Jon) and Brenda (Jim); and brother-in-law, Don. Marty was preceded in death by his father, James; his loving wife, Laurie; sister, Sue; and brother-in-law, Terry.
