He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Thomas and Regina Thomas; his wife Mary Rose Riesenbeck; his son Joseph; and his sisters, Mary Ruth and Rita Catherine.

He is survived by: his children, Laura Ann King (James), Jason Thomas (Everly) of Morganfield, KY, Marilyn Thomas and Sheila Hays (Owen); his grandchildren, James King, Martin King, Tristen King and Brandon King; his brothers, Ross Thomas (Jane) of Morganfield, KY, Robert Thomas (Carolyn) of Morganfield, KY and Jerry Thomas (Kay) of Greencastle, IN; and his brothers-in-law, Herman Thomas and Allen Freiermuth.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 8:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the Whitsell Funeral Home - Morganfield (250 N Court St, Morganfield, KY 42437). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Ann Catholic Church (304 Church St, Morganfield, KY 42437).
