Martin Robert Coons, 78, of Troy, passed away on March 10, 2026, at his home. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Earl Warren Coons and Mary Frances Gross Coons. Martin cherished time spent with family and friends. He held a deep passion for music and guitar playing, followed the New York Yankees faithfully, and enjoyed restoring cars and playing golf.
He is survived by his daughter, Jody (Karl) Weidel, his granddaughters Nicole Weidel and Ashley Weidel, his brother Earl (Kathy) Coons, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Martin was predeceased by his son, Mark Coons, and his siblings Thomas Coons, Joyce Bendon, Nancy Taylor, John Coons, and Sandra Nolan.
His memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who were honored to have known him.
