Martin L. Aubrey

Martin Lewis Aubrey, 93, of Hickory Hills, Illinois, died peacefully at the VA Home in Manteno, Illinois, on March 17, 2026, with his family at his bedside. He had resided at the VA Home for the past ten months.

Born in Springfield, Illinois, on August 1, 1933, to Lewis Aubrey and Anna Netznik, Martin graduated from Illinois State University, where he was active in sports and played football. He married Carol K. Blase on January 31, 1959, and they made their home in Hickory Hills for 65 years. Martin worked for Corey Steel and was a devout Christian who attended Grace Lutheran Church.

He loved fishing, reading military history, and following Chicago sports, especially the Blackhawks. Martin spent many contented hours outdoors and caring for his yard. An only child, he was preceded in death by his wife Carol in 2015 and by their daughter in 2008. He is remembered with love by his surviving family.
