Martin was born on May 20, 1945, to the late Frederick Lee and Betty Jane (Saltsgiver) Chambers in Punxsutawney. He graduated from trade school as a Steam Fitter. He was a Steam Fitter for local#354 and worked on Nuclear Power Plants and Alaskan Pipeline. He was also heavily involved in the school system; he was an instructor at VoTech school for welding and eventually retired as a school bus driver. Martin married the love of his life, Lynn Rae McCall on November 22, 1961; Lynn preceded him in passing on December 30, 2025. Martin was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local#354. Martin enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had a "Type A" personality and loved to make friends with everyone he met. He enjoyed being on the go completing his daily tasks and adventures. Martin is survived by two children: Dr. Martin Lee Chambers of Punxsutawney, and Kimberly Chambers Graves of Verona, PA; one sister: Lauren Ishman; five grandchildren: Harlan Chambers, Landon Chambers, Skyler Chambers, Zachary Peterson, and Victoria Peterson; and three great-grandchildren: Fionna, Rowen, and Elewyn. In addition to his parents and wife, Martin is preceded in passing by two brothers: Gary Chambers and Frederick Chambers. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Circle Hill Cemetery, time will be determined. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fait – d'Argy Funeral Home, 117 N.
