Martin Casebolt ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Kendrick McCartney Johnson Funeral Home on Mar. 16, 2026.Martin A. Casebolt, 85, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.Martin was born October 9, 1940, in the Commonwealth of Virginia to Lin B. and Dora A. (Stephenson) Casebolt. On January 11, 1963, he married Sharon Lea Potter in Arkansas City, Kansas, beginning a beautiful life together that spanned 63 years. In 1969, Martin and Sharon made their home in Osage County, Oklahoma, where he began working as a cowboy for Codding Cattle Research in Foraker. After the ranch was sold, he continued his career with Grandeza Ranches as a cowherd manager before eventually leasing and operating his own cattle operation at the Hunt place in Foraker for many years.A true cowboy at heart, Martin was known for his strong work ethic, determination, and deep love for the western way of life. He was well-known in the steer roping circuit and was a member of the PRCA, the Sr. Steer Roping Association, the Osage Steer Roping Club, and the Pawhuska Elks Lodge. His greatest joy, however, was riding and training horses-especially those others might give up on. As Sharon often said, "He loved a problem horse. He might not always cure them, but he was always able to correct them."Martin called Foraker home for many years, where he raised his sons and instilled in them the values of hard work, horsemanship, and integrity. In 1995, he and Sharon moved to Pawhuska, where they enjoyed traveling, watching their sons rope, and spending time with their growing family.Above all, Martin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; sons Kelly Casebolt and wife Renee, and Todd Casebolt and wife Heather; grandchildren Matt Casebolt and wife Shannon, Clayton Casebolt and wife Mallory, Ty Bryant and wife Cassie, Dally Somers and husband Josh, Raesh Casebolt, Foreman Casebolt, and Crosby Casebolt; and great-grandchildren Mattix Casebolt, Tripp Casebolt, Millie Casebolt, Sadie Casebolt, Darcy Bryant, Sunny Somers, and one on the way. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Lin Casebolt, Jr.; and his sisters, Viola Smart and Pearl Huxley. In Lieu of Flowers, family ask for donations to be made to:Oklahoma High School Rodeo AssociationAttn.
