Martha Sue Carter Courson

Martha Sue Carter Courson passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, surrounded by her family at the age of 89. She was born to Kate Elizabeth Carter and Richard Rollie Carter on October 19, 1936, in Cooper, Texas.

Sue was a beloved mother, grandmother, and GiGi whose life was marked by her deep faith and love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her quiet strength, and the many ways she cared for others throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 years, Jimmy Wayne Courson, and her grandson, Matthew Thomas Dunn. She is survived by her four children, Kathy Dunn and husband Larry of Dallas, Texas, Cindy Bietendorf and husband Alan of Rockwall, Texas, Kris Courson and wife Frances of Helena, Alabama, and Kyle Courson and wife Dayna of Flowery Branch, Georgia. She leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren who loved her dearly and will continue to cherish her memory.
