Martha "Diane" Sadler Tompkins

Martha Diane Sadler Tompkins, 78, of Hobucken, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 14, 2026, surrounded by family.

Diane was a devoted woman of faith and a longtime member of Hobucken Methodist Church, now known as Hobucken Community Church. For more than twenty years she faithfully served as the church pianist, sharing her musical gift and bringing comfort and inspiration to countless worship services and gatherings.

She was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and deep love for her family. Diane cherished every moment spent with those she loved and took great pride in watching her family grow through the generations. She also held a special place in her heart for her beloved cats, who brought her companionship and joy for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Tompkins; her parents, Mitchell and Martha Sadler; and her sisters, Frances Robinson and Peggy Hopkins. Diane is survived by her loving daughters, Julie Potter (Rex), Sara Woolard, and Becky Atkins (Jim); her brother, Mitchell Sadler (Ann); ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
