September 11, 1937— March 15, 2026
Panama City, FL
Martha Lynn Palmer Moore passed away peacefully at her home in Panama City, Florida, on March 15, 2026. Born on September 11, 1937, in Pitcairn, Pennsylvania, to the late Harry L. Palmer and the late Martha Wigton Palmer, Lynn was raised with the loving support of her late cousin, Rev. Robert Snyder, and his wife, the late Emma Snyder. She was preceded in death by her younger brother, John Wayne Palmer.
Lynn graduated from Houtzdale High School in Brisbin, Pennsylvania, in 1955. She went on to earn her nursing degree from Passavant Nursing School in Pittsburgh in 1957 and later received a degree in Christian Education from Practical Bible College in Binghamton, New York. She devoted her career to nursing, working for many years at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, where she met her husband, Robert Moore. They married on October 21, 1967, and shared 58 devoted years together. Lynn later found deep fulfillment in home health care, a field she returned to after raising their daughter.
An active and adventurous spirit, Lynn loved traveling, camping, fishing, hiking, riding her snow machine, showing antique cars, and boating. She volunteered with her church women’s group, served as a Girl Scout leader, and worked as a school nurse. A longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Panama City, she also taught Bible school and summer church camps throughout her life.
Lynn is survived by her daughter, Laura Elizabeth Moore Sylvester and son-in-law Lance, and her two cherished grandchildren, Jared (Madeline) and Abigail Sylvester.
