Martha Jean "SIS" Lipply Bissett

Martha Jean “Sis” Lipply Bissett passed away on March 4, 2026 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Canton, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her only son, Norman “Boo” Bissett Jr., her parents, and her brothers Sonny, Eddie, and Roy.

Sis is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Norman Bissett; her granddaughter, Cassandra Bissett of Virginia; her daughter-in-law, Franci Bissett of Virginia; her brother, George “Joe” Lipply; her sister, Shirley Montgomery; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A lifelong resident of the Alliance area, Sis graduated from Sebring High School. She was a gifted seamstress and crocheter who patiently taught those skills to younger family members. In her younger years she tended a large garden that supplied fresh vegetables for her family and was known for preparing the food at Binius-Lipply family reunions, especially her beloved banana cream pies. She found joy in bingo, bird watching, playing cards, classic country music, dancing around the house, and above all, spending time with children. A longtime member of the United Methodist Church in New Franklin, she cherished the congregation and took special pleasure in hearing Norman sing in the choir.
