Alliance, OH

Martha Jean "SIS" Lipply Bissett passed away on March 4, 2026 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Canton Ohio.

She was preceded by her only son, Norman "Boo" Bissett Jr.; her parents; and brothers, Sonny, Eddie and Roy.

She left behind her loving husband of 61 years, Norman Bissett; her granddaughter, Cassandra Bissett of Virginia; daughter-in-law, Franci Bissett of Virginia; brother, George (Joe) Lipply; sister, Shirley Montgomery; and a multitude of loved and grateful nieces and nephews.

Sis graduated from Sebring High School and lived all her life in the general area of Alliance. She crocheted and sewed beautifully and taught many of the younger generation. In her younger years, she kept an enormous garden and spoiled us with fresh vegetables. She was known for cooking for the Binius-Lipply family reunions, particularly her banana cream pies. Sis enjoyed bingo, bird watching, playing cards, laughing, classic country music and dancing, even around the kitchen and while cleaning house.

Besides Norman, the biggest love of her life was being around children. She wanted a large family, but it was not to be.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in New Franklin. She appreciated the people there and enjoyed listening to Norman sing in the choir. Unfortunately, her health did not allow her to attend as often as she wanted.

A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church in New Franklin on Thursday, March 19th at 12:00 p.m..
