Martha Ellen House

Martha Ellen House of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, passed away on March 13, 2026 at the age of 83. She leaves behind a large and loving family who will carry her memory in their hearts for years to come.

Predeceased by her parents, Harry Owen and Ruth Evelyn David, and her parents-in-law, John Benjamin and Ruby Cassandra House Culbertson, Martha was also preceded in death by her brothers Harry Owen Jr., Charles David, and George Edward “Bo” Evers, her siblings-in-law LeeVan Robertson and Faye Evers, her nephew Gregory Neal House, her son-in-law Kurt Hougland, her grandson Phillip Okoro, and her nephew Daniel Evers.

She is survived by her husband Ken House; her sisters-in-law Betty Jo Evers and Mary Nell Robertson; her nieces and nephews Sheri House (Scott Hines), Donna Jo “DJ” Spantgos (Jim), and David House; and many other beloved nieces and nephews including Lynette, Keith, Scott, Kelly, Kim, Harry Owen, Jeremy, and Nikki. Martha was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her four children and their spouses, her grandchildren Nick (Amie), Derrick (Paige), Lexi (Danny), CJ (Katie), Kristi, Jackie, Lindsey (Nathan), Landon (Rachel), Ashlee (Tyler), Ashley, and Haylee (Trent), and her great-grandchildren Harmony, Drayke, Myla Jo, Kolton, Bradlee, Brayden, Lucan, Hayden, Lena Ruth, Symphony, Bryce, Lainey, and Quinn. She is also survived by her cousin Kathy.
