Martha Ann Glessner

Martha Ann Glessner, 84, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at CountryHouse Residence in Cedar Rapids.

Born on September 10, 1941, in Eldon, Iowa, Martha was the daughter of Lloyd Russell and Bessie Marie (Canny) Baber. She married Russell Armentrout on December 23, 1963, and later married Harry Edward Glessner on June 21, 1985, in Cedar Rapids. Both husbands preceded her in death, Harry on October 31, 2025.

Martha enjoyed a long and rewarding career of more than 30 years with Quaker Oats, retiring at the age of 55. In retirement she embraced travel, taking many memorable cruises, and found great joy in tending her flower beds. She was a woman of quiet strength and warmth who touched the lives of those around her.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Julie (Scott) Geers of Walker; stepchildren Sheila Wickham of Cedar Rapids and Greg Glessner of Marion, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jacob Wickham, Nathan (Liz) Armentrout, Cassandra (Dominic) Wickham, Sarah (Chris) Sadler, and Christopher Ekwall; and seven great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Riley, Jaxson, Benjamin, Gabrielle, Malachi, and Kaleysta. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, her infant daughter Melanie, and her brother David Baber.
