Horger White, of East Liverpool, passed away Monday evening, March 2, 2026, at the Calcutta Health Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was 90 years old.Born in East Liverpool, April 7, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Marion M. and Clara Hughes Horger. A member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1953, she continued her education at Kent State University where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in education in 1957. Martha taught for the East Liverpool City School District for 42 years at Neville School and East Elementary. She was a member of the Grace Presbyterian Church where she served as the organist, deacon, Sunday school teacher and Cradle Roll superintendent as well as president of the church's Women's Association.For many years Martha was the treasurer of the East Elementary Home and School Association, a member of the East Liverpool Business and Professional Women's Association, Alpha Delta Kappa, Columbiana County Early Childhood Educators and the Columbiana County International Reading Association, where she served as the art chairman of its Young Author's Conference.She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl White (Eric) of East Liverpool, as well as two nieces, Della Emery of Cleveland, and Jennifer White of Wheeling, two great-nieces, Yasmeene and Leena, a great-nephew Khalid and one great-great-nephew, Basim. She also will be remembered by a "special son", Kenneth Delaney.She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary G. Horger Emery.Friends may visit Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Rev. John Smith will conduct a funeral service Friday at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home where friends may visit an hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Grace Presbyterian Church for fellowship.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
