Willard, MO
Marsha E. Howland, 77, of Willard, Missouri, formerly of Warsaw, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri. Born on September 26, 1948, in Atchison, Kansas, to Kenneth and Peggy Shumaker, Marsha possessed a deep love of plants and flowers that she shared generously with her community. As the owner of The Flower Pot on Main Street in Warsaw, she created beautiful arrangements for birthdays, weddings, holidays, and quiet moments of comfort. Her shop became a cherished gathering place where her laughter, warmth, and welcoming spirit made every visitor feel at home.
Marsha also had a remarkable talent for decorating, with an innate ability to make any space feel comforting and personal. Friends and family often remarked that stepping into a room she had arranged felt unmistakably like her—warm, inviting, and full of care. In addition to her work at the flower shop, she built a respected career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Warsaw, where she was known for her knowledge, strong work ethic, and kindness toward colleagues and friends alike.
Above all, Marsha found her greatest joy as a mother and grandmother. She took immense pride in watching her granddaughters, Brooke and Paige Ramsey, grow into beautiful, capable young women. Their accomplishments and presence brought her constant happiness.
Marsha is survived by her daughters, Heather Ramsey and Holly Perry, both of Springfield, Missouri, and their husbands, Eric Ramsey and Mike Perry, whom she loved as sons. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Martin, and brother-in-law, Gary Martin, of Warsaw. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 30 years, Dennis Howland, with whom she shared a deep and loving partnership. She will be remembered for her creativity, generosity, wisdom, and the lasting beauty she brought into the lives of those who knew her.
